South America 2016: On to Manuel Antonio

Monteverde to Quepos/Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica

On our last morning in Monteverde, we took some time to enjoy the hammocks before hitting the road.

one of the many buggy friends in our room. this one was pretty!
We stopped at the Monteverde cheese factory on the way out of town for a scoop of guanabana ice cream--it was like a sorbet, very tropical tasting. Sweet, sour, and fruity!

Stopped for gas (full service!) and got to see some cows

Beautiful scenery along the drive

One of the sights to see along the way to Quepos is the crocodile bridge. The river is a natural habitat for the crocs, and we walked out to see them.

We also took a detour to Jaco beach, where Rick had been at surf camp.

It was rainy almost the whole what to Quepos, which was an adventure in and of itself. We drove for a few more hours before we made it there.

We met our Airbnb host Thomas in the town, and followed him up to our accommodations. The photo is blurry because it was so bumpy!

In Manuel Antonio (Quepos), we are staying in a tree house. Rick found this place in an article about the top 5 most unique Airbnb listings. Our time in Costa Rica is planned around when we could stay here--you have to book a year in advance! Must be nice to have a property that is in demand 365 days a year!

Dinner that night was at Soda Sanchez, for casados and patacones. Delicious! We also stopped at a local market and a bakery to pick up a few things to have on hand at the house.

The next day, we made breakfast and then went off to Manuel Antonio National Park to hike and swim.

a sloth!!
Lunch was in the town of Manuel Antonio, at a falafel place. Pretty great falafel if you ask me!

The afternoon was rainy, so we spent time lounging in the treeshouse. I blogged and caught up on bills and photos.

When the rain died down a bit, we walked down the trail from our house to the small viewing platform near the river. You can see monkeys from here!

The big farmers market in Quepos is Friday night and Saturday morning. Despite the rain, we wanted to shop and pick up some fruits and veg for dinners and snacking while we are here.

Although we couldn't get the grill to start, we managed to put together a pretty delicious meal!

  1. I'll be honest, when I saw the trailer, I felt like it showed the whole movie, assuming that the birth scene would be the finale of the film, but it happens less than half way through the film and the film had so much more to offer. It was eternally intense thriller that kept me and everyone else in the theater on the edge of their seats. 123movies free

I was also worried that the film wouldn't effectively portray the silence and intensity, boy was I wrong, the films quietness and also the way it was filmed gave a true sense of uncertainty and fear. I'll be honest not all the scares got me, but several of them did, and did very effectively, especially considered I am a horror veteran. I found the pacing and intensity to be very effect and kept me on the edge of my seat. And reacting to the audience reactions, everyone else was more scared than I am. watch rampage full movie online free

Not only the horror aspect was good, but the dynamic between the family is also very well done. You truly feel like this was a family that love each other and John Krazinski and Emily Blunt do a wonderful job portraying not only the love between mother and father as well as the true love between parents and their children. the devil's candy release date

The bad and good dynamic of children on their parents is on full display as well as the constant fear of protecting our children. The cinematography was great, it only added to the tense feeling in scenes, I found many of the shots to be unique and well shot. The monsters were bad ass as hell and are definitely scary, not only what they do but what they look like. watch Avengers Infinity War online free hd
