(posted by Emily) Many of you know that it took me years to jump on the Twitter bandwagon--I never really felt like it offered me anything unique that another social media platform couldn't offer. Well, I caved this past fall and so far, things have been going well--I'm really good at complaining to companies with poor customer service, reading about the top 15 tips for X, Y, and Z, and retweeting things that I think articulate a great point.  Last weekend, I retweeted Portlandia, when they were offering up seats to an event in LA. Never expecting to win, I was blown away when they contacted me on Monday and that is how Rick and I found ourselves standing outside of The Last Bookstore in downtown LA last night. Restaurant Review: Crossroads Kitchen When Rick and I first read about Crossroads in our LA Magazine , we immediately knew it was on our short list of new restaurants to try. After checking out the menu, we realized it would be the perfect place to celebrate our marriage with a special meal to ourselves. It took a few weeks for us to get there, since we needed to have a reservation on an evening we had free, and Saturday night was the finally the perfect night! Dinner was late, with our reservation scheduled for 8:30. We did not use the restaurant's valet parking and ended up finding a spot in the neighborhood. Even looking through the windows of the restaurant, we were immediately blown away by the decor and beautiful exposed bulb chandeliers throughout the restaurant space.
