(posted by Emily)  Saturday 28 June First and foremost, let's start with a great big THANK YOU to Angela, Logan, Christine, and Edana for their help with a particularly stressful situation that greeted us when we work up this morning. Even from 5,000 miles away, you helped us feel loved, cared for, and supported. We owe you big time! It was a great morning on the boat, as Dad arrived to London today! Malcolm, Dad's longtime English friend (the one who picked us up at the airport), brought him up here and had predicted that within probably a half hour of his arrival, Dad would want to take the boat out. ( posted by Emily) Friday 27 June  This morning was an early one for us--ironic, since we had to wait till after 9:30 to get on the train in order to travel during off-peak hours. Rick and I were both up around 4am. Who knows why, but hopefully this jet lag will subside quickly!  After figuring out the best travelcard option for us (an unlimited day travel card for £18 each), we hopped on the train out of Roydon.  It was about 40 minutes to Stratford on National Rail , and once we arrived, we switched over to the Tube to head to Covent Garden . Since we were celebrating Rick's birthday one day late, our food choices for the day were up to him. Lunch was planned for Wild Food Cafe , in Neal's Yard . We arrived before they opened, so spent some time wandering around shopping and sightseeing before heading back.  My Kappa fix for the day! (posted by Emily) Hello from Roydon, Essex! We arrived to London this morning and have been getting settled in. Currently, the USA/Germany game is on at the pub in town, and I'm taking advantage of the free wifi. And the beer.  We flew from Vegas to Toronto last night, before our final flight to Heathrow. The Toronto airport was very modern, with lots of shops and access to free internet on a slew of iPads.  After a quick snack of French fries with a side of free internet, it was time to get on our Air Canada flight to London. Each seat had an outlet, USB port, and touch screen entertainment center. Rick's seat did not have working sound, so you can bet I'll be tweeting about that later!  Dinner was a vegan sweet potato and veggie curry.
