Cabo Weekend: Nuestro último día en el paraíso

(posted by Emily)  31 August 2014 On our last morning in Cabo, we grabbed some breakfast and then headed out to the beach for a walk. Even if we couldn't swim in the water, we still wanted to touch the ocean. The bright blue of the water and curve of the shoreline reminded us of Nice --minus all the rocks :)  We stopped by the adults only pool on our way back, and decided laying out in the shade sounded like a great plan for the morning. Rick stopped for a quick pic in one of the shallow relaxation areas, then we popped upstairs to put on our suits.  After some quality reading time, a bit of swimming, and some lunch, it was time to pack up and get ready for our return shuttle. The only downfall of having the hotel book the transportation was that we were scheduled to arrive at the airport waaaayyyyy too early. Bummer.  our little lovebirds Enjoying the lobby one last time as we checked out The new Terminal ...

Cabo Weekend: Nadar con Delfines

(posted by Emily)  30 August 2014 On Saturday morning, we were up early again and decided to head down to the beach to reserve our lounger for the afternoon. In true Barclay style, Rick did a lot of research about which companies offered the best conditions for the dolphins and had the best value. We settled on Dolphin Discovery for a number of reasons--they offer round trip transportation to th...

(posted by Emily) 29 August 2014 On Friday morning, we were up early for our snorkeling and kayaking excursion. We booked the trip through the Hyatt, and they have a relationship with a local company called High Tide. We stopped in one of the buffet restaurants for a quick breakfast, and then High Tide picked us up in their van.  The trip took us into Cabo San Lucas proper, and it was fun to see the town and surrounding areas on our drive over. We even spotted a Home Depot, Office Depot, and Office Max. Life is not that different in Mexico!  We started our trip from a small beach in the marina. Ocean kayaks were up first, and our snorkel gear was on board for later use. We landed the kayaks on Lover's Beach, and had a blast checking out all of the beautiful fish! A new underwater camera was my birthday gift to myself--thanks, Dad! these little guys were encircling us in a huge ring for a while. so cool.  ...
