(posted by Emily) Monday 21 July Daily Step Count: No idea (Pacer app fail) On Monday, we were excited to get back out on the boat. Most of our trips have been south on the River Lee toward London, and we decided it would be fun to go the other way on this adventure.  Oh Captain, my captain (nice boat shoes!) Near the second lock we always go through en route to River Lee, there is some sort of hippie tent camp/boat city that has popped up. Not sure how long they are planning to stay, but there are 8 to 10 boats all tied up together, tarps up in the trees, and hammocks and laundry strung between branches. I can't imagine the Canal and River Trust is too happy about them.... (posted by Emily)  Monday 30 June  Daily step count: somewhere around 9,000 (two faulty apps today) Today, we went out on the canals and practiced driving, mooring, and working the boat! So much fun--Rick is clearly a natural! Also took care of general maintanence like emptying the toilet tank, filling the gas, and the water.  pumping out the "blackwater" tank--aka the septic tank this is the pump--you put in a token, and it sucks out all the bad stuff Rick taking us up to the lock Filling the lock heading in to the second lock Other highlights? Hanging with Dobby the French Bulldog, feeding baby ducks, and cigars after dinner :) Tomorrow we're off sailing again! Can't wait to see how far we get! --E&R
